DESCRIPTION:CAE Grand Opening Celebration June 22\, 2024 | 10 am – 3 pm\nRibbon Cutting Ceremony – 10 am\nArts Person of the Year Presentation – 12 pm\nA FREE celebration of the heART of the community! \nThe time is fast approaching\, and we have been waiting long enough. It’s the event that you definitely don’t want to miss! It’s going to be big. We mean REALLY big. Grand Opening Celebration big! Saturday\, June 22 will be a day of celebration\, creativity\, and community. Get ready to immerse yourself in the abundance of new artistic opportunities available thanks to our doubling in space. Whether you’re an experienced artist or simply eager to explore your creative side\, we’ll have something for everyone to enjoy – from painting and sculpting to glasswork and printmaking – and plenty of kid-friendly crafts and face painting to boot. We’ll host live demonstrations and hands-on activities\, all conducted by our incredible staff of teaching artists. There will also be a full lineup of musical and theatrical presentations for your entertainment\, including excerpts from the Venue Theatre’s Willy Wonka and Stage Door Theater’s current production\, and performances by Ovation West’s chamber choir and Evergreen favorites John Erlandson and Gene Morris. \nAnd if we must remind you\, we have gotten pretty good at throwing parties! That means we will have a delicious food truck on site\, plus wine and beer available for a donation. And\, if you time it right\, we are giving away free cupcakes to the first 200 people starting at 12:15 pm! It’s all part of how we’re honoring our Arts Person of the Year for 2024\, Alexa Cowley\, along with a very special toast beginning at noon. \nSo\, mark your calendars for June 22 from 10 am – 3 pm for our long-awaited Grand Opening of CAE’s Phase II. We couldn’t have done this without our beloved community. This was built by you and for you\, so let’s CELEBRATE together!

DESCRIPTION:3D: Beyond the Boundaries\nMay 30 – July 6\, 2024 \nTuesday – Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM\nSaturday: 10 AM – 4 PM\nSunday & Monday: Closed \n3D: Beyond the Boundaries is a look at 3-D artwork from every angle. We have time-tested media like bronze and stone. We also have artists who are pushing the boundaries with installations\, sculptural textiles\, assemblage\, and more. This exhibition features 31 artists with almost 50 pieces of work. 3D: Beyond the Boundaries will bring you joy\, make you feel\, and push you to think outside the box. \nIn conjunction with the exhibition in CAE’s main gallery\, we are pleased to welcome our first mini-exhibition by one of CAE’s first resident studio artists\, Tricia Rosenthal. Rosenthal’s exhibition\, 3D to 2D: Evergreen Sculpture Portraits\, presents a series of 15 original oil paintings that bring 15 beloved Evergreen sculptures to the canvas. Inspired by her time as president of Sculpture Evergreen\, Tricia is the perfect artist to create portraits of the public art in Evergreen. Rosenthal’s mini-exhibition hangs in conjunction with 3D: Beyond the Boundaries in the newly rededicated Michael McGoldrick Executive Classroom.
