DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly Creativity\, Coffee & Conversation for mountain area seniors! Each month we offer the opportunity for artists\, writers\, and arts appreciators (aged 60 and better) to gather and find connection through art. The first portion of the afternoon is a tour with the curator\, where you will learn about the current exhibit; stories behind pieces in the show\, what it takes to find artists\, and how an exhibition comes together. Then we enjoy coffee and cookies as we come together to create. We have multiple stations: one with an art project led by an artists or art teacher\, one for writing\, and one for simply chatting—the art of conversation. CCC is an opportunity to come together\, make new friends\, and learn something new. We are all at different stages of aging and we all handle it a little differently\, but what we do know is that social interaction and community engagement keep us all a little healthier. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly Creativity\, Coffee & Conversation for mountain area seniors! Each month we offer the opportunity for artists\, writers\, and arts appreciators (aged 60 and better) to gather and find connection through art. The first portion of the afternoon is a tour with the curator\, where you will learn about the current exhibit; stories behind pieces in the show\, what it takes to find artists\, and how an exhibition comes together. Then we enjoy coffee and cookies as we come together to create. We have multiple stations: one with an art project led by an artists or art teacher\, one for writing\, and one for simply chatting—the art of conversation. CCC is an opportunity to come together\, make new friends\, and learn something new. He sings about skiing\, trail running and other outdoor recreation\, finding that most people who live here instantly relate to the music. \n“I get 90% of my inspiration from nature\,” Morris said about his overall life — not just his songwriting. \nGrowing up in Idaho Springs\, he began playing guitar at age 10\, then graduated from the University of Colorado in 2007 with a degree in music business. Since then\, he has been a touring musician\, promoter\, teacher and athlete — all of which have taken him worldwide\, teaching camps and workshops. When he’s not playing shows or skiing big mountains\, he works as a music promoter and talent buyer for festivals and events. Inspired by her time as president of Sculpture Evergreen\, Tricia is the perfect artist to create portraits of the public art in Evergreen. Rosenthal’s mini-exhibition hangs in conjunction with 3D: Beyond the Boundaries in the newly rededicated Michael McGoldrick Executive Classroom.

DESCRIPTION:3D: Beyond the Boundaries\nMay 30 – July 6\, 2024 \nTuesday – Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM\nSaturday: 10 AM – 4 PM\nSunday & Monday: Closed \n3D: Beyond the Boundaries is a look at 3-D artwork from every angle. We have time-tested media like bronze and stone. We also have artists who are pushing the boundaries with installations\, sculptural textiles\, assemblage\, and more. This exhibition features 31 artists with almost 50 pieces of work. 3D: Beyond the Boundaries will bring you joy\, make you feel\, and push you to think outside the box. \nIn conjunction with the exhibition in CAE’s main gallery\, we are pleased to welcome our first mini-exhibition by one of CAE’s first resident studio artists\, Tricia Rosenthal. Rosenthal’s exhibition\, 3D to 2D: Evergreen Sculpture Portraits\, presents a series of 15 original oil paintings that bring 15 beloved Evergreen sculptures to the canvas. Inspired by her time as president of Sculpture Evergreen\, Tricia is the perfect artist to create portraits of the public art in Evergreen. Rosenthal’s mini-exhibition hangs in conjunction with 3D: Beyond the Boundaries in the newly rededicated Michael McGoldrick Executive Classroom.

The dates for the show have been chosen carefully as this June weekend is one of the city’s most alive and historically has enjoyed great weather.
