SUMMARY:Rocky Mountain Literary Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Rocky Mountain Literary Festival is an annual gathering of authors\, readers\, and books to celebrate the importance of literature in our culture and education.  \n A passion for reading\, the love of literature\, and a sense of community inspired a group of mountain-area residents to launch this endeavor in 2015. Evergreen has long supported artists in many different categories such as fine art\, music\, and theatre; the founding of this event\, added the art of the written word to that auspicious list.  \nIn addition to celebrating the art of literature in our community\, the Festival supports the mission of Bootstraps\, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit\, which has been providing scholarships and interest-free loans for continuing education to mountain-area students with financial need since 1945. \nSince the inception of the Rocky Mountain Literary Festival\, proceeds from the event have funded close to $50\,000 in scholarships. When you support the Festival\, you support the love of literature and the future of the mountain community. \nTickets go on sale in June 2024.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly Creativity\, Coffee & Conversation for mountain area seniors! Each month we offer the opportunity for artists\, writers\, and arts appreciators (aged 60 and better) to gather and find connection through art. The first portion of the afternoon is a tour with the curator\, where you will learn about the current exhibit; stories behind pieces in the show\, what it takes to find artists\, and how an exhibition comes together. Then we enjoy coffee and cookies as we come together to create. We have multiple stations: one with an art project led by an artists or art teacher\, one for writing\, and one for simply chatting—the art of conversation. CCC is an opportunity to come together\, make new friends\, and learn something new. We are all at different stages of aging and we all handle it a little differently\, but what we do know is that social interaction and community engagement keep us all a little healthier. DESCRIPTION:  \nSummerfest is a cornerstone of the foothills’ summer festival season. Drawing artists from across the region and offering 100+ booths for attendees to peruse\, this annual 2-day festival also features live music throughout the day from local favorite bands\, food trucks and spirits vendors\, a children’s craft and activity area\, and a glorious landscape in which to enjoy it all. Summerfest 2024 runs July 20 and 21 from 10 to 5 daily at Buchanan Park Field\, just a mile down the road from CAE and only a few minutes off I70 at Evergreen Parkway. \n44th ANNUAL SUMMERFEST\nJuly 20 & 21\, 2024\n10:00 am – 5:00 pm daily\nBuchanan Field – 32003 Ellingwood Trail\, Evergreen\, CO \n$5 Admission at the door | Kids 10 and under FREE \nSummerfest is hosted by the Center for the Arts Evergreen\, a nonprofit organization.\nProceeds from Summerfest go to support arts programming year-round.
