The first portion of the afternoon is a tour with the curator\, where you will learn about the current exhibit; stories behind pieces in the show\, what it takes to find artists\, and how an exhibition comes together. Then we enjoy coffee and cookies as we come together to create. We have multiple stations: one with an art project led by an artists or art teacher\, one for writing\, and one for simply chatting—the art of conversation. CCC is an opportunity to come together\, make new friends\, and learn something new. We are all at different stages of aging and we all handle it a little differently\, but what we do know is that social interaction and community engagement keep us all a little healthier. SUMMARY:Rocky Mountain Literary Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Rocky Mountain Literary Festival is an annual gathering of authors\, readers\, and books to celebrate the importance of literature in our culture and education.  \n A passion for reading\, the love of literature\, and a sense of community inspired a group of mountain-area residents to launch this endeavor in 2015. Evergreen has long supported artists in many different categories such as fine art\, music\, and theatre; the founding of this event\, added the art of the written word to that auspicious list.  \nIn addition to celebrating the art of literature in our community\, the Festival supports the mission of Bootstraps\, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit\, which has been providing scholarships and interest-free loans for continuing education to mountain-area students with financial need since 1945. \nSince the inception of the Rocky Mountain Literary Festival\, proceeds from the event have funded close to $50\,000 in scholarships. When you support the Festival\, you support the love of literature and the future of the mountain community. \nTickets go on sale in June 2024.
